Professor Paul Jones is a Visiting Professor and Head of the Business Department at Swansea University’s School of Management. He holds concurrent roles as Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and has held senior academic positions at Coventry University, Plymouth University, and the University of South Wales. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research, Associate Editor for the International Journal of Management Education, and Editor of Emerald's Contemporary Issues in Entrepreneurship Research book series. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Board Trustee for the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE).
His research focuses on global entrepreneurship, particularly in developing economies, with a strong emphasis on Africa, Asia, and Southeast Asia. He has supervised 11 doctoral students and examined 38 candidates across Europe, Africa, and Australia. Current research projects include entrepreneurship initiatives with the Nigerian government, European Structural Funds, and Welsh government grants totaling over £1.4 million.
Professor Jones actively seeks doctoral candidates in entrepreneurship and small business management. His work integrates policy, education, and practice, with notable contributions to international entrepreneurship frameworks and development strategies.
