Associate Professor Paul Henry is a member of the Sydney Business School and Department of Marketing at the University of Sydney. His research focuses on consumer-brand relationships, social class dynamics, and cultural capital in consumption. He has held senior roles in global marketing agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather, blending industry experience with academic inquiry. Paul holds a BBus from UTS and a MCogSc and PhD from UNSW.
Research interests include brand communities, financial decision-making, and the sociocultural foundations of consumer behavior. His work employs qualitative and ethnographic methods, with notable contributions to journals like Journal of Consumer Research and European Journal of Marketing. He has produced award-winning visual research presented at international film festivals.
Key publications explore topics such as credit card paradoxes, political ideology in sharing economies, and the role of cultural branding in conservation efforts.
