Professor Paul Glaister CBE is a Professor of Mathematics and Mathematics Education at the University of Reading's Department of Mathematics and Statistics, part of the School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences. With 47 years at the university, he specializes in computational fluid dynamics, numerical analysis, and mathematics education, particularly post-16 curriculum reform. He currently serves as External Engagement Lead (Education) and holds leadership roles in organizations like the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) and the Royal Society's Advisory Committee on Mathematics Education (ACME).
His academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons), MSc, PhD, and professional designations such as Chartered Mathematician (CMath) and Chartered Scientist (CSci). Notably, he was appointed CBE in 2023 for services to education and will become President of the Mathematical Association in 2025.
