Dr Paul Dryburgh is a Principal Record Specialist at The National Archives, London. Specializing in medieval history, he focuses on ecclesiastical records, medieval Ireland, and the materiality of collections, particularly seals. He holds a doctorate from the University of Bristol and has contributed to major projects such as the ‘Henry III Fine Rolls Project’ and the ‘The Northern Way’, exploring the role of York Archbishops (1304-1405). His work emphasizes linguistic and palaeographic training for accessing medieval records and digital humanities applications.
Education: PhD in History, University of Bristol.
Research Projects:
- Co-Investigator on AHRC-funded ‘The Northern Way’ (York Archbishops’ role).
- Co-Investigator on ‘Beyond 2022: Ireland’s Virtual Record Treasury’ (Irish Government-funded).
