معرفی
Professor Paul Clarke (He/Him) is the Executive Director of the Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics at Griffith University. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms governing cell division and cell death, with significant implications for cancer diagnosis and treatment. He has held leadership roles at the Frazer Institute and Diamantina Institute at the University of Queensland (2017-2024), served as Associate Dean (Research) at the University of Dundee, and held research fellowships at the University of Manchester and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory.
- Education: Biochemistry, University of Bristol; PhD in Biochemistry, University of Dundee.
Professor Clarke's research explores the intersection of cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, and cancer biology. Current work investigates the role of the innate immune system in cancer cell responses to chemotherapeutic agents that disrupt mitosis. His recent studies include AI-driven nanopore assays for DNA replication stress, phosphorylation mechanisms in spindle assembly, and timed degradation of proteins governing cell survival during mitotic arrest.
Scientific trends in his publications emphasize molecular oncology, mitotic signaling, and apoptotic regulation. His work bridges structural biology (e.g., nuclear envelope assembly) and translational applications (e.g., cancer diagnostics).
