Dr. Paul Carr is a Professor of Educational Psychology at Regent University's School of Education, serving as Program Director for the Educational Psychology concentration. He previously held roles at The George Washington University, including director of master's programs in Higher Education Administration. His academic journey includes a B.A. in English from Virginia Wesleyan College, an M.A. in Human Resource Development from GWU, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration, also from GWU.
Research focuses on autonomous learning, organizational leadership, and self-efficacy. Key contributions include studies on learner autonomy's role in leadership development and quantitative analyses of self-directed learning. His work spans peer-reviewed journals like Leadership & Organization Development and International Journal of Self-Directed Learning.
Awarded the Gary J. Confessore Award (2010) and Union Nacional de Juristas Jose Marti Award (2009), Dr. Carr has authored/co-authored over 50 publications, including books on agentic learning and leadership.
