Dawn Barbee serves as Assistant Professor and Program Director for Higher Education programs (M.A., Ph.D., Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration and Leadership) within Regent University's School of Education. A full-time faculty member with over 15 years of university experience, she teaches across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels in biblical studies, ministry, leadership, and higher education.
Her academic credentials include:
- Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Management from Regent University
- M.A. in Biblical Studies from Regent University
- Bachelor's in Economics and Music from University of Mary Washington
Dr. Barbee's research centers on Christian higher education, examining spiritual formation of students, faith-learning integration in curricular design, soul care in administration, and Christian leadership development. Her dissertation analyzed spiritual discernment practices among governing boards of Christian institutions, reflecting her focus on decision-making processes and spiritual health within academic leadership teams.
Prior academic roles include Assistant Professor of Leadership and Director of the Center for Global Leadership at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she developed the PBA Lead program, and Campus Registrar at University of Valley Forge Virginia Campus. Her non-academic background includes service as Associate Director of Adult Spiritual Formation at a large church and corporate chaplaincy.
