Paul Adams

Paul Adams is a Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Strathclyde, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of Hull and has held academic roles at Newman College of Higher Education and the University of Hull before joining Strathclyde in 2014. His expertise spans education policy, teacher education, and social inclusion, with a theoretical focus on positioning theory and policy analysis. He currently leads initiatives such as the New Northern Pedagogies Group and has been Principal Investigator on multiple Scottish Government-funded projects.

Teaching & Advising:

Advises doctoral and master’s students on education policy, teacher education, and related fields. Teaches courses including BA Education Studies, PGDE, and the EdD program. His teaching emphasizes the interplay between pedagogic expertise and systemic policy frameworks.
