Fiona Ramsay is a Teaching Professor in the School of Education at the University of Strathclyde, where she has worked since 2017. Prior to this, she held roles as a Primary Teacher in Spain and Scotland. She holds an MA in German and Hispanic Studies (University of Glasgow, 2004), a PGDE in Primary Education (University of Strathclyde, 2010), and an MEd in Children's Literature and Literacies (University of Glasgow, 2016). She is currently pursuing an EdD focused on orality in primary classrooms.
Her research interests center on oral storytelling, children's literature, and fostering reading for pleasure. She coordinates modules such as PGDE Curriculum and Pedagogy - Literacy, Culture and Environment and leads the BA2 Inter-Disciplinary Learning Module on Folk and Fairy Tales. She has collaborated on projects with schools in Glasgow and Renfrewshire, emphasizing curriculum development and community engagement.
