معرفی
Patrik Henriksson is an Affiliated Researcher at the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics, Stockholm Resilience Centre (Faculty of Science, Stockholm University), and WorldFish. His work focuses on evaluating aquaculture sustainability through life cycle assessment (LCA), antimicrobial use in aquaculture, and seafood's role in global food systems, with extensive fieldwork across Asia and Egypt.
Education:
- PhD in Marine Biology from Leiden University, specializing in environmental consequences of European seafood imports from Asia with emphasis on LCA uncertainties.
Research Interests:
Patrik Henriksson pioneers methodological advancements in LCA for aquaculture systems, particularly addressing shrimp and tilapia production in developing economies. His work bridges environmental science and policy, investigating antimicrobial resistance (AMR) drivers in aquaculture through One Health frameworks and developing circular economy models to reduce resource competition. Recent projects examine climate change interactions with aquatic food systems and the feasibility of ocean-based carbon removal.
Research Trends:
Analysis of his publication record reveals three dominant trajectories: (1) Refinement of LCA methodologies for seafood with statistical rigor, especially in Asian contexts; (2) Systems-level analysis of antimicrobial use drivers and AMR management strategies across global aquaculture; (3) Circular economy applications reducing feed competition and environmental footprints. His work increasingly integrates climate vulnerability assessments and participatory scenario planning for policy implementation.
Projects:
As a core researcher in the SeaWin project since 2019, he drives consumer behavior studies promoting shifts from beef to sustainable fish. He leads AMR intervention frameworks through the AMR-Intervene project, applying fuzzy cognitive mapping in Swedish and Southeast Asian contexts. His Egyptian aquaculture assessments inform national circular economy transitions, while mangrove-shrimp LCA work guides Vietnamese sustainability policies.
