Malin Jonell is a systems ecologist and sustainability governance scholar at Stockholm University, specializing in sustainable food systems with a focus on seafood production and market mechanisms. Her research explores the role of markets, trade, and private-sector actors in driving sustainability within the seafood sector, particularly through eco-certification schemes and consumer behavior analysis. She has contributed to the EAT-Lancet Commission, defining scientific targets for sustainable food systems, and currently leads investigations into the environmental impacts of aquaculture certification and retail sector influence on sustainable seafood demand.
