Dr. Patrick Wing is a Professor of History at the University of Redlands and Director of the Proudian Interdisciplinary Honors Program. His expertise spans the history of the Mongol Empire, Middle Eastern and Central Asian studies, and World History. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations/Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. in History from The College of New Jersey.
His research focuses on Mongol-Middle East relations, dynastic state formation, and medieval political dynamics. Notable works include The Jalayirids: Dynastic State Formation in the Mongol Middle East (2016) and articles examining Mamluk state-building, Chinggisid legacies, and medieval maritime networks.
