Patrick McKinley Brennan is a Professor of Law at Villanova University, holding the John F. Scarpa Chair in Catholic Legal Studies. He joined Villanova in 2004 after serving as Professor of Law and Vice Dean at Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law. Brennan specializes in constitutional law, legal philosophy, and law-and-religion intersections, organizing the annual John F. Scarpa Conference on Law, Politics and Culture with speakers like Justice Antonin Scalia and scholars such as Martha Nussbaum.

Brennan's scholarship focuses on common-good constitutionalism, basic equality, political friendship, and forgiveness. His recent works analyze constitutional interpretation through normative frameworks and explore the moral teachings embedded in legal systems. Notable publications include five books and over eighty articles in journals like Michigan Law Review and Law and Philosophy.
