Patrick Kennedy

Professor Patrick Kennedy is a Clinical Professor of Translational Hepatology at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), and a Consultant Hepatologist at Barts Health NHS Trust. His research focuses on the translational aspects of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, particularly in young adults, and he leads the dedicated young adult liver service at The Royal London Hospital.

• Research Themes: Redefining disease phases in Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB), age-related immune responses, treatment endpoints in CHB, and immune-mediated liver injury mechanisms.
• Collaborations: Works with national institutions like UCL, Imperial College London, and international partners such as Duke-NUS Medical School (Singapore) and University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy).
• Teaching: Chairs the MSc in Gastroenterology program and contributes to undergraduate MBBS teaching, including bedside clinical instruction and virology modules.
