Patrick Gray serves as Dean of the Center for Arts and Letters and Professor of Literature at the University of Austin (UATX). Previously, he held leadership roles as Director of Liberal Arts at Durham University and taught comparative literature at Deep Springs College and the United States Military Academy at West Point.
His research specializes in Shakespearean analysis within Renaissance contexts, with emphasis on ethical frameworks and historical intersections. Gray has authored Shakespeare and the Fall of the Roman Republic and edited Shakespeare and the Ethics of War, exploring connections between literary works and classical philosophy. His scholarly approach integrates textual criticism with broader civilizational themes, particularly evident in co-edited volumes like Shakespeare and Montaigne.
