He serves as Editor of Renascence: Essays on Values in Literature. His research focuses on Renaissance Literature, particularly Shakespeare, Spenser, and Milton, with an emphasis on theological and historical contexts. Curran's work explores how religious controversies, medieval heritage, and early modern thought shaped literary form and character development.
His academic contributions include three major books: Roman Invasions (2002), Hamlet, Protestantism, and the Mourning of Contingency (2006), and Character and the Individual Personality in English Renaissance Drama (2014). Recent publications analyze The Faerie Queene, Shakespearean tragedy, and Milton’s epic poetry. His current projects revisit epic literature while maintaining a focus on drama.
