Patrick Bateman is a Professor in the Department of Management & Marketing at Youngstown State University's Williamson College of Business Administration. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Pittsburgh and has professional experience in financial analysis and corporate education management.
His research examines dynamic interactions between people and technologies, including social-technical systems adoption, computer-mediated communications, and organizational use of interactive systems. Current projects explore virtual mobility's role in mitigating workplace inequality and AI's impact on consumer behavior.
Bateman's scholarly contributions appear in top journals including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, and Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication. His research demonstrates consistent focus on technology's societal impacts through experimental and empirical methodologies.
Honors include the Lariccia Family Endowed Professorship and multiple Distinguished Professor Awards recognizing excellence in teaching, research, and service. He currently directs the MBA program and maintains active collaborations with industry partners.
