Patrick Adlercreutz is a Professor at the Division of Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology within Lund University's Faculty of Engineering (LTH). His research focuses on enzyme technology applications in food and bio-industrial contexts, including lipid modification, prebiotic ingredient development, and oat processing optimization. His work directly contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to food security and sustainable production.
Key research areas include enzymatic synthesis of functional lipids, carbohydrate-based surfactants, and understanding enzymatic reactions in organic media. He leads projects funded by prestigious bodies like the Swedish Research Council and the Gyllenstiernska Krapperupsstiftelsen. Notable current projects include developing stable lipid formulations for bioactive compounds and optimizing oat processing techniques.
Adlercreutz collaborates internationally, evidenced by recent publications in journals like Food Hydrocolloids and Journal of Colloid and Interface Science. His research emphasizes practical applications in food technology and biocatalysis.
He has supervised 20 academic works and actively participates in industry-research initiatives such as the 2nd Food Oats Conference. His lab focuses on advancing sustainable food production through innovative enzymatic solutions.
