Patricio Dalton is a Full Professor in the Department of Economics at Tilburg University, affiliated with the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM). He holds affiliations with several research centers including CentER, CAGE, EBC, TiBER, IGL, and IPA, and serves as a J-PAL invited researcher for the DigiFI Africa project. He is the coordinator for Tilburg in the ENTER Exchange Network, linking leading European economics institutions.

His research bridges behavioral economics, development economics, and experimental methods, focusing on how poverty affects decision-making, aspirations, productivity, and cognitive function. He also investigates how interventions such as goal setting, moral support, and mobile money can improve economic outcomes in low-income settings.
His recent publications appear in top journals like Management Science and Review of Economics and Statistics, covering topics such as mobile money adoption in Kenya, goal-setting in Ghanaian firms, and moral support in sports performance. Funded by DFID, ESRC-DFID, NWO, European Commission, and World Bank, his work employs randomized controlled trials across Africa, Asia, and Europe.
