Prof. Dr. Arjan Lejour is a Full Professor of Taxation and Public Finance at Tilburg University’s Department of Tax Economics (TiSEM). He also serves as a Programme Leader at the CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis. His research focuses on international tax avoidance, wealth inequality, and tax policy evaluation. He holds a PhD in Economics from Tilburg University (1995) and has extensive experience in academic and policy roles, including senior roles at CPB and teaching at universities like the Free University of Amsterdam.
Key research interests include the economic impact of corporate taxation, treaty shopping, global minimum tax frameworks, and wealth mobility in the Netherlands. He has supervised multiple PhD students and contributed to policy evaluations, such as the assessment of the DGA wage regulation. Awards include the Alan A. Powell Award (2006) and the CPB Scientific Price (2022).
Lejour is affiliated with CPB, where he analyzes tax policies and impacts, and has been involved in high-profile projects like ‘Connecting Organizations’ (2019–2023). His work frequently addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals related to reducing inequality and fostering economic stability.
