Burak Uras

Burak Uras is an Associate Professor at Tilburg University's Department of Economics within the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM). He has held faculty positions since 2010, advancing from Assistant to Associate Professor in 2018. Concurrently, he serves as a Research Fellow at the European Banking Center and CentER.

His research explores:

• Labor economics: Wage determination, flexible contracts, and union-firm dynamics
• Financial technology: Impacts of e-payments and mobile money on business finance
• Macroeconomic development: Technological change, productivity, and consumer welfare

Recent publications analyze electronic payment systems, labor market flexibility, and automation's effects on wages.

Notable recognition includes the TiSEM Research Valorization Award 2016. He contributes to doctoral education through Tilburg's PhD programs and research groups focused on economics and sustainability.
