Patricia Pitta, Ph.D., ABPP, is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Psychology and Director of the Integrative Couple and Family Therapy Program at St. John’s University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. With over 20 years of experience, she specializes in integrative approaches to couple and family therapy, blending psychodynamic and systemic perspectives. She maintains a private practice in Manhasset, New York, applying the Assimilative Family Therapy Model (Pitta, 2014). Dr. Pitta has held leadership roles in professional organizations, including President of the Clinical Division of the New York State Psychological Association and President of the Long Island Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She currently serves on the American Board of Professional Psychology in Couple and Family Therapy.
Her research focuses on integrative therapy models, marital dynamics, and family systems across the life cycle. Notable works include Solving Modern Family Dilemmas (Routledge, 2014) and an upcoming book Integrative Couple and Family Therapy: Contemporary Issues and Treatment Models (APA, 2019).
