Carol A. Steinberg

Carol A. Steinberg, PhD, is a Sessional Instructor at York University, University of Toronto, City University of Seattle, and First Nations University. She is a generalist clinician specializing in individual, couples, and family therapy, and holds a Certificate in Group Psychotherapy and Organizational Psychology. Bilingual in French and English, she is a Registered Francophone Service Provider with the Local Health Integrated Network (LHIN).

Her education includes a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology, a 3-year post-graduate certificate in "Working with the Abused Program" from Seneca/York University, and a Certificate in Group Psychotherapy and Organizational Psychology.

Dr. Steinberg's research focuses on Clinical Psychology, Trauma and PTSD, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions, particularly for military veterans. Her clinical work extends to Indigenous Mental Health, Grief Counseling, and Psychopharmacology. She has been a member of Military Psychology (APA Division 19) for two decades and published on PTSD interventions.

She teaches a diverse range of courses including Indigenous Health Studies, Indigenous Social Work with Families, Psychology of Religion, and Abnormal Psychology. Dr. Steinberg serves on the Advisory Committee for the Eisner Institute for Professional Studies, contributing to curriculum development and accreditation.

Her professional affiliations include the Ontario Social Service Worker Association (OSSWA), Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP), Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW), and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She is also a long-standing member of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (APA Division 2).
