Patricia Chen

Patricia Chen is an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine with a focus on qualitative methodology in health services research. She works at the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety (IQuESt) within the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, Houston, Texas.

Her research specializes in understanding patient and provider experiences within healthcare systems through qualitative frameworks. She provides methodological expertise and mentorship to investigators, research fellows, and staff on qualitative research design, implementation, and analysis.

As part of her role, Dr. Chen contributes to grants and quality improvement initiatives funded by the Veterans Health Administration and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. She is affiliated with the Methods & Analytics Core at IQuESt, a multidisciplinary research team focused on advancing healthcare delivery innovation.
