Kyler M Godwin

Kyler M Godwin, Ph.D., M.P.H., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine – Health Services Research at Baylor College of Medicine, where he also serves as Vice Chair for Quality Improvement and Innovation. He holds multiple leadership roles, including Assistant Dean for Quality Improvement and Implementation, Director of the Learning Health System Accelerator, Director of the Institute for Continuing Professional Development in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, Chief of the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety (IQuESt) at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and Director of both the National VA Quality Scholars Program and the National Health Professions Education Evaluation and Research Program.

Dr. Godwin’s research focuses on implementation science, leadership in healthcare improvement, interprofessional education, continuing professional development, and health professions education evaluation. His work emphasizes scalable models for training healthcare professionals in quality improvement and patient safety. He has made significant contributions to delirium screening in emergency departments, technology-based caregiver support, and faculty development in QI methodologies.

His recent publications reflect a strong trend in clinical implementation, geriatric care, interprofessional training, and digital health interventions. These works span emergency medicine, nursing education, and virtual learning environments, demonstrating a broad impact across healthcare disciplines.
