Patricia Bode is an Associate Professor and Art Education Program Coordinator in the Department of Art and Design at Southern Connecticut State University, with over 20 years of PK-12 public school experience including art teaching, curriculum leadership, and middle school principal roles, plus a decade in higher education. Her work is rooted in anti-racism and anti-bias activism to prepare racially literate students for multicultural democracy.
Dr. Bode's research advances art education as a civil right through racial literacy development, curriculum transformation via arts integration, and dismantling the School-to-Prison Pipeline. She investigates access expansion for underserved groups while exploring arts-based approaches to addiction disorder awareness and recovery, framed by critical multicultural and urban education contexts.
