Dr. Patricia Anthony is an Associate Professor of English at Concord University, affiliated with the College of Professional and Liberal Studies' Department of Humanities. She has been teaching since 2014 across campuses in Athens and the Higher Education Center in Beckley. Her courses include Freshman Composition, World Literature, and special topics like Shakespeare and Film, Tennessee Williams, and Harry Potter. She holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. from the University of Nevada (2014, 2008, 2004).
Her research focuses on Shakespearean adaptations through a queer theoretical lens, with publications including Queering the Shakespeare Film (2017) and essays in Presentism, Gender, and Sexuality in Shakespeare (2009) and Shakespeare and Emotions (2015). Current projects explore screen Shakespeare criticism, post-queer theory approaches, and Shakespeare's poetics of memory.
Her work spans intersections between literature, film, and gender studies, with recent contributions to pop culture analysis through essays on Outlander and Downton Abbey.
