Matthew Kozusko is a Professor of English at Ursinus College, specializing in Shakespeare and early modern drama. With over two decades of experience performing Shakespeare in the U.S. and U.K., his teaching integrates performance studies, rhetorical analysis, and theoretical frameworks to bridge early modern storytelling with contemporary contexts.

His research explores theater history, Shakespeare's cultural resonance in modern media, queer theory applications, and the ethics of appropriation. He has co-edited significant works like Performing Shakespearean Appropriations (2022) and Thunder at a Playhouse (2010), and edited The Two Gentlemen of Verona (2014). Recent publications examine Shakespeare's relatability, civic health, and queer cinematic adaptations.
Kozusko serves as editor for the Shakespeare and the Stage book series and former co-general editor for Borrowers & Lenders: the Journal of Shakespeare and Appropriation. He teaches courses ranging from Shakespearean performance to literary theory and epic literature.
