Pascal Chabert

Pascal Chabert is a CNRS Research Director and Professor at École Polytechnique, affiliated with the Laboratoire de Physique des Plasmas (LPP). His research focuses on plasma physics, particularly radiofrequency plasmas, plasma etching, and plasma propulsion. He holds a PhD from Université Paris-Sud (Orsay) and conducted postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley. Chabert has authored/co-authored a textbook on radiofrequency plasma physics and received notable awards including the IUPAP Young Scientist Prize (2007), William Crookes Prize (2014), and CNRS Silver Medal (2022). His work bridges fundamental plasma physics with applications in microelectronics and space propulsion.
