Dr. Parvathy Venugopal is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Cancer Biology, University of Adelaide, affiliated with the Adelaide Medical School within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. Her research focuses on the genetics of inherited bone marrow failure syndromes, leukemia predisposition, and the role of somatic mutations in hematological disorders. Specializing in regenerative medicine and stem cell biology, she develops in vitro and in vivo models to study disease mechanisms and therapeutic strategies. She holds the prestigious Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision Fellowship (2020–2023) and contributes to scientific governance as a steering committee member for the National Symposium on Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes and a biocurator for ClinGen’s Myeloid Malignancy Variant Curation Expert Panel since 2021.
Her work emphasizes understanding clonal dynamics in inherited diseases and identifying genetic lesions to advance therapeutic approaches. The Centre for Cancer Biology serves as her primary research hub, where her interdisciplinary studies bridge basic science and clinical applications in oncology and hematology.
