Partha Mohanram is a Professor of Accounting at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, where he holds the John H. Watson Chair in Value Investing. He serves as Vice-Dean, Research, Resources and Interdivisional Programs, and is the Director of the CPA Ontario Centre for Accounting Innovation Research. He previously served as Area Coordinator for the Accounting area (2016–2022) and Acting Vice-Dean of Research, Strategy and Resources (2022–2023). He is also the Academic Director of the India Innovation Institute and chaired the University President's Council for the Indian Subcontinent (2017–2022).

Partha Mohanram's research focuses on financial statement analysis, valuation of growth firms, implied cost of capital, and executive compensation. Recently, he has expanded into innovative areas such as social media, artificial intelligence, and machine learning in accounting contexts. His work bridges traditional accounting theory with modern data-driven methodologies, contributing significantly to both academic and practical understanding in value investing and corporate disclosure.
His research has been published in top-tier journals and has earned prestigious recognition, including the Haim Falk Award (CAAA, 2017), the Rotman Research Impact Award (2018), and the Notable Contributions Award from the American Accounting Association (2022). He is the Editor-in-Chief of Contemporary Accounting Research and serves on the editorial boards of The Accounting Review and Review of Accounting Studies.

Partha Mohanram has taught in MBA, PhD, undergraduate, and executive education programs, including the Directors Education Program (DEP), and has received multiple teaching awards. He has supervised graduate research and mentored students in advanced topics in business analysis and valuation. His leadership extends to institutional grants and research strategy, particularly through his role in directing the CPA Ontario Centre for Accounting Innovation Research and shaping interdivisional academic programs.
He is actively involved in academic governance and innovation, leading research centers and fostering international academic collaboration, particularly with institutions in India through the India Innovation Institute and the President’s Council for the Indian Subcontinent.
