Paolo Russo is a Full Professor at the University of Parma's Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Enterprises. He serves on the Scientific Council and Teaching Board of the Doctorate in Philological-Literary, Historical-Philosophical and Artistic Sciences and acts as Docente tutor for multiple Master's programs in Classical and Modern Literature.
- Research Focus: 18th-century French opera, early 19th-century Italian opera, operatic dramaturgy at intersections with dramatic/choreographic genres, and music history pedagogy
- Technical Contributions: Created a multimedia online course in Musical Dramaturgy (2016)
Collaborations: Engages with Italian and international institutions including University of Tours, Catholic University of Milan, Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, and Palazzetto Bru Zane. Key editorial roles include steering committee membership of Studi Verdiani and editorial board of Il Saggiatore musicale.
