Pamela Tate is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Monash University, with a distinguished career spanning judiciary, public legal service, and academic contributions. She previously served as a Judge of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria (2010-2021) and Solicitor-General of Victoria (2003-2010), becoming the first woman in this role. Her work on constitutional challenges and advocacy for human rights legislation, including contributions to Victoria's Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities, highlight her expertise.
- Education: First-class Honours in Philosophy (Otago University, 1979); B.Phil in Philosophy (Oxford University, Commonwealth Scholarship); First-class Honours in Law (Monash University, 1988).
Research Interests focus on constitutional law, administrative law, human rights remedies, and the role of courts in interpreting human rights legislation. She has conducted research at Oxford University's Bonavero Institute of Human Rights.
