Adjunct Professor Kevin H Bell AM KC is an esteemed human rights jurist and former Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria. He holds a Bachelor of Arts/Law (Hons) from Monash University and a Master of Studies in International Human Rights Law from Oxford University. His academic affiliation is with Monash Law’s Castan Centre for Human Rights Law, where he advances human rights education and jurisprudence.
Professor Bell’s career spans over three decades in law, judiciary, and academia. He previously served as President of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (2008–2010), Commissioner of Victoria’s Yoorrook Justice Commission (2021–2023), and Co-Chair of the National Mental Health Commission’s Stigma Reduction Strategy (2021–2023). His judicial contributions include landmark rulings on human rights, equality, mental health, and access to justice, frequently cited in Australian and international legal discourse.
