Pamela Sullivan is a Professor and Hollis M. Dole Professor in Geosciences at Oregon State University's College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences. She leads the Sullivan Lab, focusing on ecohydrology and interactions between climate, vegetation, and geology. Her research examines terrestrial water storage, water quality, and Earth system projections under climate change.
Education: Ph.D. in Geosciences (2011, Florida International University) and B.Sc. in Natural Resource Conservation (2005, University of British Columbia). Awards include the endowed Dole Chair. Her work explores hydraulic properties, plant-soil-water interactions, and critical zone dynamics across spatial and temporal scales.
Key research themes include woody encroachment impacts, groundwater dynamics, and soil evolution. She has studied tree islands in the Everglades, tallgrass prairies, and montane ecosystems. Her recent studies address subsurface connectivity, dissolved carbon dynamics, and climate-driven changes in water systems.
Publications (2023–2025) highlight advancements in critical zone science, ecohydrological modeling, and interdisciplinary data integration. She collaborates on continental-scale studies and global environmental frameworks to address ecological drought and water quality under climate extremes.
