Dr. Pamela A. Kaylor is a Teaching Professor at Ohio University’s Lancaster Campus within the School of Communication Studies. She is an affiliated faculty member at the Center for Law, Justice, and Culture and a COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) Fellow. Her expertise spans qualitative research, gendered communication, intercultural communication, and rhetoric.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Communication and Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies, Ohio University
- Master’s in Organizational Communication, Murray State University
- Two B.A. degrees: Sociology (Archaeology minor) and Organizational Communication, Murray State University
Research & Teaching: Dr. Kaylor specializes in global educational collaboration through COIL, organizing international projects with institutions in The Netherlands, Mexico, China, and others. She has trained at the SUNY COIL Institute (sponsored by U.S. and Mexican embassies) and leads the PICUSMX Program. Current initiatives include a Thailand study abroad program with Thai instructor Pittaya Paladroi-Shane.
Service & Activism:
- Organized events like Take Back the Night, Celebrate Women Conference, and Social Justice Week.
- Serves on Ohio University committees: MLK Jr. Celebration, Diversity & Inclusion, Experiential Learning Grants, and COMS Recognition.
