Pablo Iglesias-Rodriguez

Pablo Iglesias-Rodriguez is an Associate Professor in International Finance Law at the University of Sussex, School of Law, Politics and Sociology, convening the LLM in International Financial Law. His affiliations include the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) as a member of its Consultative Working Group, and Honorary Fellow of the Asian Institute of International Financial Law (HKU). He holds a PhD in Law from the European University Institute (EUI), alongside degrees from the University of Vigo and certifications in anti-money laundering and divinity.

His research focuses on financial markets regulation, company law, and global governance. Notable works include analyses of EU financial regulators, systemic risk in banking unions, and climate litigation in corporate law. Recent articles address gatekeeper liability in Spain, Catholic ethics in gambling regulation, and ESMA’s regulatory interventions.

Awarded the Honorary Fellow title by HKU and a member of the UKRI Peer Review College, his contributions span policy training in Nigeria and advisory roles in EU agencies. He supervises PhD candidates in financial and company law, and teaches courses on financial law governance and derivatives.

His academic journey includes visiting roles at institutions like Columbia University, the Max Planck Institute, and multiple European universities, alongside prior research posts at VU Amsterdam and the EUI.
