Otto Christian Odland

Otto Christian Odland serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Conducting, Singing and Church Music at the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH), while concurrently holding the position of cathedral organist at St. Olav's Catholic Cathedral in Oslo and maintaining an active freelance career with ensembles including the Silver Boys and Gamle Aker Church Choir.

His educational foundation includes:

• Church music training from the Grieg Academy in Bergen
• Church music training from the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo
• Diploma in organ playing at Oslo Cathedral (2002) under Terje Winge and Kåre Nordstoga
• Advanced studies with David Sanger in England

Odland's professional expertise centers on organ performance within liturgical contexts, specializing in Catholic church music traditions. As an educator since 2011, he has shaped liturgical organ pedagogy at NMH while mentoring through roles at Staffeldtsgate College of Music and the Faculty of Congregational Studies.
