Dr. Olufikayo Bamidele is an NIHR Advanced Fellow and Research Fellow at the Hull York Medical School (HYMS), part of the University of Hull’s Faculty of Health Sciences. Her research focuses on addressing ethnic inequalities in cancer experiences, particularly psychosocial aspects of prostate cancer survivorship among Black men and their partners. She holds a PhD from Ulster University and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health (FRSPH) and the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

- PhD in Life and Health Sciences (2015-2019), funded by Ulster University’s Vice Chancellor’s Research Scholarship
Research Interests:
Dr. Bamidele’s work explores intersections of ethnicity, gender, and health disparities. Her current projects include:
- DESTIGMATISE: Reducing stigma barriers to prostate cancer care among Black men
- PATIENT-SEA: Improving cancer diagnosis through patient-centered audits
- DOORSTEP: Enhancing breast screening uptake via transport accessibility

Teaching & Supervision:
She teaches the ‘Ethnicity and Cancer Service Provision’ module to MBBS students and supervises PhD candidates at HYMS and the University of Bath.

Part of the Institute for Clinical and Applied Health Research (ICAHR) and collaborates with global institutions like the University of Michigan.
