Rawand Jarrar is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the School of Medicine, University of Sunderland, since January 2023. Her research focuses on healthcare decision-making processes, particularly among underserved populations.

Her research interests include:
- Health inequalities and decision-making in ethnic minorities
- Prescribing practices for atrial fibrillation patients
- Cancer screening uptake among Muslim women
- Community-centered healthcare interventions
- Mixed-methods approaches to health services research
Current projects include:
- IMCAN Study: Cancer Research UK-funded initiative improving breast, bowel, and cervical cancer screening uptake among Muslim women through peer-led, faith-based interventions
- Exploring healthcare access barriers for Black men in prostate cancer early diagnosis
Her work integrates pharmacy expertise with public health research to address systemic healthcare disparities.
