Olivier Sibai is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Marketing at the University of Bath, affiliated with the Centre for Business, Organisations and Society (CBOS). He holds a PhD from Aston University and previously worked at Birkbeck, University of London. His research focuses on Social Marketing, particularly violence in markets, social branding, and consumer behavior in online communities. He has explored topics such as brutalization in online consumption communities, brand activism ethics, and academic isolation. His work is funded by the Leverhulme Trust/British Academy and Wellcome Foundation, and has been featured in outlets like Harvard Business Review and The World Economic Forum.

Research interests include interpretivist methodologies like ethnography, auto-ethnography, and text-mining. He actively supervises PhD students in Social Marketing and Consumer Culture.
Notable projects include a Networking Grant for UK Consumer Culture Theory research (2025-2026) and a British Academy-funded study on branding moralization (2024-2025). Awards include the Birkbeck Vice Chancellor Award for Teaching Excellence (2024) and an Outstanding Reviewer Award (2018).
He leads workshops on academic isolation and participates in conferences such as the Association of Consumer Research Conference and Consumer Culture Theory events.
