Olena Said is a Researcher and OPEN Trial Manager at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Academic Psychiatry and the Eating Disorders Research Group. She joined the institution in 2021 to manage the OPEN Trial, focusing on olanzapine treatment for adolescents with anorexia nervosa. Previously, she worked as a general practitioner, medical educator, and clinical researcher. Her expertise spans Eating Disorders, Diabetes, and Clinical Pharmacology.
Dr. Said holds an MSc in Eating Disorders and Clinical Nutrition from University College London (2021) and a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology, investigating GLP-1 analogues' effects on inflammatory cytokines in Type 2 Diabetes. She contributes to the Centre for Research in Eating And Weight Disorders (CREW), aiming to uncover neurobiological, genetic, and psychological factors in eating disorders to develop better treatments.
Her research integrates clinical practice with translational science, addressing both metabolic and psychological dimensions of chronic conditions. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to advance treatment methodologies and patient care.
