Carol Kan is a Clinical Lecturer in Eating Disorders at King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. She graduated in medicine from the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London, followed by psychiatric training at South London & Maudsley Trust. Her research focuses on genetic epidemiology, predictive modeling, psychedelics, depression, disordered eating, and their interactions with physical health. She has held fellowships from the BRC and Novo Nordisk UK Research Foundation.
Education: MBBS from University of Cambridge and Imperial College London. Clinical training at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
Research Interests: Eating disorders, mood disorders, and their biological and environmental determinants. Recent work includes ketamine's role in anorexia nervosa, genetic factors in anxiety, and healthcare service evaluation.

Awards: BRC Preparatory Clinical Fellowship, Novo Nordisk Fellowship. Grants include £1.45m MRC funding for the EDEN trial exploring ketamine for depression in anorexia nervosa.
Grants/Advising: Leads the EDEN trial and co-leads projects on biological predictors of anorexia nervosa treatment response and integrated care models for Type 1 diabetes patients with eating disorders. Collaborates across disciplines to address mental health disparities.
