Ogan Yumlu

Ogan Yumlu is a current staff member at Izmir University of Economics, affiliated with the Department of Political Science and International Relations. He holds a PhD in political science from Istanbul Bilgi University, with an MA in political science and history from Uppsala University and a BA from Bilkent University.

His research focuses on normative democratic theory, epistemic democracy, and the philosophical foundations of republicanism. He explores intersections between Kantian ethics and contemporary political thought, while analyzing Turkey's constitutional history and democratic challenges.

Recent publications examine republican freedom in Turkey, constitutional failures of the 1920s, and the epistemic validity of democratic decision-making. His work incorporates classical philosophical traditions into modern political frameworks.

Yumlu is currently writing a monograph on Kant and neo-Kantian political philosophy, which promises to deepen interdisciplinary connections between philosophy and social sciences.
