Oded Nov is the Morton L. Topfer Professor of Technology Management and Department Chair of Technology Management and Innovation at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. He holds affiliations with the Center for Urban Science + Progress (CUSP) and the Sounds of New York City (SONYC) initiative. His research focuses on human-computer interaction, the future of work, human-AI collaboration, and digital health. Nov earned his Ph.D. from Cambridge University, M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, and B.A. from Tel Aviv University.
Nov’s research interests include exploring how technology transforms work, healthcare, and societal interactions. He has led projects on telemedicine, AI in healthcare decision-making, and citizen science applications like SONYC for urban noise pollution. Notable grants include NSF funding for AI-based healthcare tools and firearm ecosystem research.
His awards include the NYU Tandon Excellence in Research Award and NSF CAREER Award. Key contributions span algorithmic transparency, generative AI’s impact on professions, and telemedicine utilization. Collaborations with institutions like CUSP and NYU Grossman School of Medicine highlight interdisciplinary work in healthcare technology and policy.
