He previously served as the Former Senior Director of International Economic Affairs at the White House National Security Council (1981-1983), and held roles at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and City University of New York. Education: Ph.D. (1962), M.I.A. (1955) from Columbia University, and B.A. (1953) from Oberlin College. He is the author of numerous books, including Servants of the Devil: The Facilitators of the Criminal and Terrorist Networks and The Grand Strategy that Won the Cold War.
