David Glancy

Dr. David Glancy is the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Chair of International Communication and Professor of Strategy and Statecraft at The Institute of World Politics (IWP) in Washington, D.C. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a B.A. from the University of Michigan, Dearborn.

• Former Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton (National Intelligence University and education technology)
• Assistant Professor (contractor) at the College of International Security Affairs (CISA), National Defense University
• Served in senior roles at the U.S. State Department (Senior Advisor for Political-Military Affairs) and Defense Department (Director of the Global War on Terrorism Communications Group)

His research focuses on political-military strategy, national security, economic statecraft, and political warfare. He teaches courses such as Economic Statecraft and Conflict, Forecasting and Political Risk Analysis, and Foreign Propaganda and Policy. His expertise spans global military posture, coalition efforts in Iraq, piracy countermeasures, and American foreign policy formulation.
