Prof. Norbert Trautmann is a distinguished academic and Chief Academic Director at the Department of Chemistry, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He leads research on nuclear chemistry, atomic physics, and the properties of superheavy elements, particularly transactinides. His work involves collaborations with institutions like GSI Darmstadt and the TRIGA research reactor. He has managed the TRIGA Mainz reactor for over 30 years and is a recipient of prestigious awards including the Glenn T. Seaborg Award and the Order of Merit.
- Education: Diploma (1964) and PhD (1968) in Chemistry from University of Mainz.
