Prof. Düllmann leads the Nuclear Chemistry group at the Department of Chemistry, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. His research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of exotic radioisotopes, particularly for superheavy element (SHE) research and nuclear clock development. Collaborations include international projects like ECHo (neutrino mass determination) and TACTICa (trapped ion spectroscopy).
Research Highlights:
- Development of advanced target production methods (molecular plating, Drop-on-Demand printing, spincoating)
- Production of actinide targets for SHE experiments at facilities like TASCA (GSI)
- Key contributions to 229mTh isomer studies for nuclear clocks
Facilities: UNILAC accelerator, TASCA separator system, TRIGA research reactor.
Recent collaborations involve institutions such as UCLA, PSI Villigen, and the Helmholtz Institute Mainz. The group actively participates in FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) initiatives.
