Norbert Salvenmoser

Norbert Salvenmoser is a Professor of Trombone (Focus: Music Pedagogy) at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, leading the Wind, Brass & Percussion Department. He concurrently serves as Deputy Head of Department IV and has been Director of the Music School in Wattens since 2003. His roles include teaching trombone, didactics, and baroque trombone, alongside administrative leadership and pedagogical initiatives.

Education: Studied in Innsbruck and at the Mozarteum University, completing school music studies (A1/A2), IGP, and a concert diploma with scholarships. Notable achievements include the 1st prize at 'Jugend musiziert' and extensive masterclasses with renowned artists.

Research interests center on music pedagogy, baroque trombone performance, and early music. He actively performs with ensembles like Sound Inn Brass Austria and the Marini Consort Innsbruck, collaborating with prestigious choirs such as the Stuttgarter Kammerchor. His performances span international festivals (e.g., Salzburg Festival, Klangspuren) and include world premieres like an African opera in Cape Town (2006).

Awards include the 'Jugend musiziert' prize and recognition through his pedagogical and ensemble work. He contributes to wind courses, orchestra academies, and serves as a jury member for competitions like Prima la Musica.
